"I have had a great experience with Hugh and Capacity. Hugh trained me both before and throughout my pregnancy. I came in with a good level of fitness and wanted to focus on strength training and progressive overload. Hugh made 5 AM workouts fun and challenging. He helped me make modifications to my workouts while pregnant while still making sure I could challenge myself in a safe way. I generally felt fewer pregnancy symptoms on the days I worked out with Hugh and I know my delivery and postpartum experience will be so much easier thanks to our consistency. "Can’t recommend Capacity enough! I started working with Hugh in January this year and have really enjoyed my overall experience. I participated in the transformation program and now train with Hugh 2x a week. Where I started - I’ve always been relatively active; did sports growing up, dabbled in strength training on and off as an adult, regularly did group fitness classes and ran when the weather was nice. I felt like I was not making progress with my activities regarding strength and stamina. I wanted to get back into strength training while being efficient with my workouts, so I looked into working with a trainer. Transformation program - I honestly lucked out, Capacity was the first gym I researched simply because the location was convenient. I had an initial call then met with Hugh in person to discuss my goals and he recommended the program. It included coaching (outside the regular training sessions) which I honestly wasn’t sure about at first, I didn’t think I needed it since I generally knew what I was doing in terms of fitness and nutrition. Coaching ended up being one of my favorite parts of the program! Hugh is genuinely invested in the success of all his clients, and it was really helpful having someone to talk about my progress with. He’s very responsive to feedback and client suggestions, and often has great ideas on how to overcome blockers. He helped me set achievable goals and was really encouraging while giving me the occasionally needed reality check. You also get a weekly tracker that he adjusts as you progress, which I personally enjoyed filling out. Workouts - Like any gym, you get what you put in. I really enjoy the workouts and appreciate that Hugh (safely) encourages me to push my limits, I’m always a little surprised with how much I can lift! Efficiency, form, and safety are really important to me and Hugh is always there to make suggestions and corrections when needed. Each session is a little different, but for my workouts we generally start with compound exercises then move on to more targeted work with dumbbells, kettlebells, bodyweight, etc. This changes based on the clients fitness levels and goals. The gym - The gym itself is a big open space with free weights, some cardio equipment, and misc gear. It’s not packed with weight machines and treadmills which I prefer as I find other gyms way too crowded and claustrophobic. You have lots of space to work out and move around. In addition to personal training they also have small group classes. The vibe is fantastic! Hugh is a great “party host” and the other coaches are really welcoming. I’ve worked out with other clients and everyone is kind and respectful. I can confidently say that I am now stronger and healthier since I started with Capacity in January. Not to mention my sleep has improved significantly. The program, coaching, and gym itself have been a huge positive in my life and for the first time I genuinely look forward to strength training, even if I’m a little grumpy in the mornings 😅 A big shout out and thank you to Hugh and the Capacity Fitness & Nutrition team! You all rock!"
