"I first started at Simple Fitness in September 2025 (7 months ago) for Alex’s 9-week program, which was just the reset I needed in my life at the time, and have continued with her “continuation” program since. I was finally getting back into more regular workouts after a prior knee surgery and struggling with thyroid/metabolism issues, and was pretty new to strength training and lifting weights. I really appreciated the multiple options for the 3 sessions a week (both AM & PM sessions) and trainers Alex and Jordan have helped teach me how to lift safely and improve my strength and form in a kind, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment. Alex’s nutrition coaching also really helped shift paradigms for me in my diet and I am feeling fuller for longer, better nourished, less sweets cravings, and like I have more energy on a regular basis. What I didn’t anticipate as much but has been probably the most valuable aspect of SF for me is the warm and welcoming community that Alex has built, the friends I have made through the gym, and the positive mental space that being part of this community has brought. Alex’s mantra is “Make it Fun!” And she definitely does that! From hosting extra optional events at the gym (holiday market, sound baths, some folks even do a book club!) to the mindset coaching as part of the 9-week program to the games and friendly competitions she builds in, Alex truly lives up to providing a caring, supportive, inclusive, motivating, and fun 360 experience and is a ray of sunshine of a person herself! Finding Simple Fitness as a relative newcomer to Richmond and while trying to get my wellness back on track has been such a blessing across both physical and social aspects! An added bonus is that Alex just expanded the gym so has more than doubled the studio space and just purchased even more equipment… so now there is even more room to welcome even more new folks and new friends in!"

"Alex is my kind of personal trainer! I started out in her 9 week program because I was looking for a gym where I could lift heavy weights and feel confident and safe while doing it. I achieved my goal with Alex! I graduated to her maintenance program which allows me to continue to lift with supervision but also add in new exercises and equipment. I’m never bored, I feel like I belong there and I continue to gain muscle strength and knowledge about how to increase my daily protein intake. Thank you Alex!"

"Simple Fitness is exactly the place I needed to get back into working out! Alex is amazing!! She is so understanding, supportive, and so genuine!!! I signed up for her 6am 9-week-program as someone who has not woken up before 6am for probably about a decade. It makes me want to get up in the morning! Alex describes every exercise completely before ever asking us to do them, and always tells us exactly where we should feel the exercise so we can adjust if needed. And she consistently is checking and correcting our form! As a beginner to weightlifting, I so appreciate the constant guidance. There’s a real community feel and you’re pushed to get stronger. I could not recommend it more!!"
