Community Feedback

"If you’re anywhere near Rosedale, Maryland, do yourself a favor and check out Exile Fitness. I’m currently traveling for work and was looking for a solid place to train while I’m in town. What I found was more than just a gym — it’s a true family-run business that takes real pride in its Maryland roots and community. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt different. You can tell this isn’t some big corporate chain. It’s locally owned, built by people who genuinely care about the members and the culture they’re creating. The owners are hands-on, welcoming, and clearly invested in the gym’s success and the people who walk through the doors. In fact, when they found out I’m a first responder, the owner’s wife generously gave me a free week pass. That kind of appreciation and support speaks volumes about who they are and what this gym stands for. Before landing at Exile Fitness, I tried another local spot, Grind HarCo. It was decent overall, but much smaller with limited equipment. The training style there felt heavily geared toward CrossFit-style workouts. If that’s your thing, it may be a good fit — but for someone like me who wants a broader range of equipment and training options, it felt restrictive. Exile Fitness, on the other hand, is built for everyone. Whether you’re a beginner just getting comfortable in the gym or a seasoned lifter chasing PRs, the layout and equipment selection support all styles of training: • Full racks and platforms for powerlifting • A wide range of plate-loaded and selectorized machines • Ample free weights and dumbbells • Cardio equipment for conditioning • Space for functional training without it taking over the entire gym Nothing feels cramped, and you’re not waiting around for equipment. It strikes that perfect balance — hardcore enough for serious lifters, but welcoming and unintimidating for newcomers. What really sets Exile Fitness apart, though, is the culture. There’s a strong sense of community here. Members respect each other, rerack their weights, and focus on getting better. It feels like a place built by hardworking Maryland locals for hardworking Maryland locals. As someone just passing through for work, I couldn’t have asked for a better gym to call home temporarily. The support they show to first responders, the pride they take in being a family-run Maryland business, and the well-rounded training environment make Exile Fitness stand out in the area. If you’re in Rosedale and looking for a gym that truly has it all — equipment, culture, and community — Exile Fitness is the spot. Colin McDonald, thanks for the recommendation brother!"

"Initially, I went here Because of a raving review, from a coworker, when I was visiting the area. I was immediately impressed with the customer service I received when initially entering the gym. I was personally greeted and given an overview of the gym. Not only was the customer service top-notch, The gym had an amazing set up. I felt like a kid in a candy shop with all the options they had. If you’re a serious athlete within bodybuilding, powerlifting, and or MMA community you’ll probably have the same jaw-dropping experience I had. *Disclaimer* my review only scratched the surface of everything they have. You’ll have to check them out yourself to find out more."
