Community Feedback
"I have been training at RVAPT since June when I moved to the Richmond area for work. Right from the start the community has been amazing. Everyone has been so welcoming and friendly! I train with the RVA Barbell team, and Sarah Tyler’s programming has been a game‑changer. Her sessions are thoughtfully structured, challenging yet adaptable, and she always takes the time to fine‑tune technique. Thanks to her guidance I was able to set a 10 kg personal record at the WSO DMV Championships this year. The gym itself is spacious, with plenty of room for the Barbell Club and the various Fit & Performance classes. The equipment is top‑quality, the floors are spotless, and everything is meticulously maintained, which makes every workout feel smooth and professional. All in all, RVAPT offers a perfect blend of friendly community, expert coaching, and a clean, well‑organized facility. Whether you’re chasing a new PR or just looking for a supportive place to stay active, this is the spot to be."

"I recently moved here and RVA Performance Training is the reason Richmond feels like home already. Some incredible athletes workout here, but they still make it welcoming and comfortable for amatures (like me!) The equipment is solid and everything is kept pretty clean. I highly recommend this gym!!!"

"BEST GYM IN TOWN! For what you get, nothing compares. Moved to Richmond from Chicago last year and so I took a deep dive to find the right gym. This was by far the best in light of its offerings; 3 different training modalities as well as use of the gym for personal lifting: just unmatched. I personally use the Performance and Fit sides, but I know the Barbell section has a great vibe and community too. For Performance, it will feel like a more traditional CrossFit class, but without the crazy 25 minute circuits after 20 minutes of powerlifting. The prescription/programming is very well thought out, has very clear cycles, and synthesizes well together. It’s challenging without being crazy, and always stays competitive. Worth the price of admission for em. For Fit, it’s an incredible mix of what most would consider HIIT training and cardio-type workouts. While not typically using barbells, it incorporates Dbells, Kbells, boxes, bands, jump ropes, slam balls, benches, jumping, running, cardio machines, and more to get a rigorous workout everytime! personally use it as a conditioner, and I love it because I can get my heart rate up big time, but it isn’t a set 45 minute run or one basic, long form training routine. There’s movement to the workouts, micro workouts generally within each session, and constant changing which I love. Having the options of the three different “studios,” as well as access to lift whenever was a no brainer. Biggest selling point has been the people and community. I’ve been able to make new friends in having moved to a new place, and everyone intentionally welcomes others into the community and into the gym events. It’s been awesome, and I’ve been in a lot of different gyms and formats and this place absolutely rocks!"
